(no subject)

The first day of vacation has been full of unexpected rain. It is pouring buckets and the wind is stirring mightily at times. So much for hitting the Transportation Museum this morning. We opted to have a pajama day full of building block towers, grilled cheese sandwiches and lots of reading books on the couch under blankets. I did manage to get my assigned chores done and I am excited to cook up cinnamon chip pancakes and bacon for dinner. I might just start a pot of coffee ....

... I'm sure nap will be over soon, but these two hours of silence in the middle of the day to break out MY book has made this day the most perfect beginning of this vacation. The kids were hilarious and sweet all morning - let's hope they can keep that up!

Wednesday and Thursday in Maryland look to be rainy, too. I am trying to convince Nicole to spend Thursday morning in Baltimore at the National Aquarium. I think the kids would LOVE it ... but neither of us fancies a drive down 95 in the pouring rain, either. So, again, Mother Nature holds the reins. I do so love the rain that it is hard to be disappointed. Though a rainy day at the aquarium sounds like a fabulous plan to me!
