Jan. 29th, 2013 08:23 amI knew when the neighbor’s house was silver-washed this morning that the clouds finally broke open and a semi-full moon was yawning down on the world. And today, mid sixties, tomorrow will be nearly seventy! Back on the walking trails and to the park with this mama and boys!
Yesterday things in momville were wonderful. I remember dreading more than 4 hours alone with infant twins and now I can handle whole days of toddlers with little stress! The kids were so good and I was just the kind of mom I always wanted to be. Played with toys and legos, talked and watched movies, had tasty snacks and played chase. I was able to work and also make a delicious samosa pie for dinner. I bathed the kids and we played and played in the tub until they were prune-y and I was soaked. I changed their sheets while they played happily in the nursery. I got them settled down and they were still stirring when Nicole got home – she was able to go in and kiss them goodnight.
By the time she came downstairs, though – I was prone on the couch, dead tired. Stay at home moms are heroes. I couldn’t do that every day. I was Exhausted. Seriously. Tired. And the kitchen was still trashed. (But all the toys were picked up.) Phew.
The neighbor who had her baby girl a few weeks before B&B came by. She gave birth to her second child, a son, a week ago. She and her husband had him bundled in their stroller, she was walking like she gave birth magically or the stork delivered that sweet 6 day old red-head. The Big Sister toddling along behind made both Nicole and I swoon-y. Ah, babies.
