(no subject)

I just haven't had the time or energy to journal as these days approaching Christmas get shorter and shorter. My brain feels as foggy as this morning, hard to see the houses and thoughts in front of my eyes.

Random redux:

* Made Brenner's first haircut appointment for next Saturday with our dear friend. Nicole will be getting a trim, too. But her hair has gotten so so long and luxurious that she's agreed to just trim it. I am *really* loving how gorgeous her hair looks these days! Also, Brooks' curls are too tight and perfect to cut yet, which is why Brenner goes first - he has a bona fide mullet.

* I got an iPhone for my birthday since it was upgrade time. So, shame on me for any birthday complaining. And since I'm a newly converted Android user, what are some must-have apps?

* I am forcibly carving time to read and looking forward to vacation so I can craft, read, bake, and be mom without any deadlines. One more week!

* Nana is here! My Mother-in-law brought a sleigh-full of Christmas and Birthday presents down on Friday for the kids. She cannot be here on Christmas this year but didn't want the kids to miss out on her shopping triumph. We decked the tree out on Saturday night together and wrapped a few of the presents and had a Practice Christmas (Pregame!) on Sunday morning so that she could see the kids open and enjoy some of their toys. It was great fun! Just sad she has to go home on Wednesday. Sigh.
