Oct. 30th, 2012 05:44 amOh, the wind. It has been howling for 24 hours. Not nearly anything as bad as they had us prepping for - and thankfully the blizzarding snow they were forecasting never made it off the mountains. But is it cold-beyond-cold and windywindy still this morning. I want to take a hurricane day! But alas. I am working form home today and when Nicole wakes up, we are going to decide together whether it is 'safe' to take the kids to the sitter... but it will be. There are very few power outages, only a few roads blocked and life will continue on.
I had one of those "My life is freaking adorable" moments last night. I mentioned that the boys are going to be scarecrows for Halloween. I was content to send them out in overalls and flannels with their scarecrow hats... but Nicole. She straight-up got crafty! (And she's NOT the crafty one.) She darned patches in coordinating fabrics to the overalls, stuck fake straw in pockets and sleeves and created the cutest darn costumes *ever*. I am in awe.
To do my part, I made the easiest Nutella brownies ever. Recipe you say?
1 Cup Nutella
10 TBS Flour
2 eggs
(chopped nuts to top)
Mix together everything but nuts. Divide into cupcake liners/tins, sprinkle nuts on top. Bake @ 350 for 25 minutes.
Makes 12 brownies.
YUM.
