Sep. 11th, 2012 07:57 amForty-nine degrees this morning!
I was tired last night but had to stay up to see the Hell’s Kitchen finale. I couldn’t stop clenching my jaw last night – stress is a funny, funny thing. I was grateful to put my head on the pillow and will my face and body to relax, letting sleep take me.
Yesterday was gorgeous. All golden light, puffy clouds and brilliant blue skies. It was also the first day of our new routine wherein we pick up The Dona from work and enjoy a walk together. Niiiiiice!
The handy-lesbian came over last night to check on the finished roof. I sent her home with some cookies. Nicole cut her a check and she paused to say how neat it was that we both had the last name. Brenner, once again, ran right up to her. (He also slammed the door in her face and made some hilarious little happy faces about it.) What a stinker. Also turns out that handy-lesbian lives on our old street. Small world!
Life continues apace at The Ark. Only three more wake-ups until the beach!
It looks as though I will be making an epic road trip on Thursday… the car that Nic’s mom was going to bring down to go to the beach with us was repossessed…. And if she and her roommate are talking again and her roomie agrees to take care of the old dog, Nana is going to need a ride to get here. Six hours up, six hours back. But a true Texan realizes that 12 hours in a car is a trip from El Paso to Tyler and shorter than El Paso to Corpus… so, I’m mentally ready. But my bones are a LOT older now… I will be useless on Friday, but I will be in the office getting my loose ends tied up before a week off.
