Jul. 30th, 2012 09:35 amFriending politics:
I checked my email on my phone last night before bed and found that two LJ people unfriended me in the space of an hour! I think I picked them up in recent friending friendzies and probably just didn’t click. I did enjoy reading their entries, though. Sad day.
Work picking up and going back into class seriously eat up my LJ time. So my regular posting streak isn’t that regular and my commenting isn’t that consistent. With that said, if we are friends on here and you are finding yourself not clicking with me, please don’t feel obligated to stay – apparently LJ housecleaning is afoot for most people!
I don’t unfriend folks unless unfriended first. I really do try to read everything that comes across my screen and as long as you are in for this ride, I am in too.
Weekend Redux:
Lots of running around and playing catch-up. Being out of town at a wacky time of week will really mess you up. But we had a successful family dinner, made a crock-pot meal for this week. We went to bed with the kitchen *nearly* clean.
Raleigh Update:
It was also our first whole weekend with Raleigh. I am in LOVE, you all. She has the most adorable little face and slept in between us each night. She loves to snuggle, she’s tinier than I expected (~20 pounds) and has enough moxie to come into our house and hold her own without being aggressive.
And the issues – she seems to be a bit mouthy. So we’ll have to work with her on her play nipping. She’s not rough and doesn’t grab to bite, but she does use her mouth with a little more force sometimes than necessary. She also snapped at a cat while Nicole was eating chicken (high value treat) on the couch next to her and the cat was begging. She growled/nipped at Brenner when he came running at her and grabbed her, too. I am cautiously optimistic because:
Tucker would have done the same thing if the baby ran up to him and grabbed him, it’s more about toddler-control and manners with dogs than a dog issue, in my opinion.
Chicken is a high-value treat, Raleigh hadn’t eaten very well since she came to us and she doesn’t know the ropes. I’m thinking structure and training will help.
The playfulness/nipping can be worked out with more toys for her and consistency.
I think putting the time in on this pup is worth it. But like we said all weekend, we don’t have to decide today, tomorrow or even this week. She can settle in and we shall see.
