It was finally cool enough to take the boys on a walk to the park after work.  It's probably been two weeks since we ventured out - between the extreme heat and the patchy rain, the derecho and the power outages. 

I hadn't been on the Greenway Trails since the derecho, obviously, so I was surprised to see so many of the trees are just *gone*.  There were lots of derrick cars and Norfolk Southern policy and track crews out removing giant logs from the tracks, STILL.

I am so sick of trying to take pictures of the storm damage because I don't feel like I can communicate scale well, but for you weather lovers out there, our newspaper has compiled some pics:
