What a wonderful weekend!

Nicole and I dropped the boys off at The Dona and Aunt E's house yesterday morning at 9:30 and have enjoyed a24-hour period of grown-up time! We went to a yard sale at a quirky/hipster art venue and came away with an antique blue glass Ball jar and a few smiles. We enjoyed lunch on the patio downtown at one of our favorite mexican food places that is tough to negotiate with toddlers because of space constraints. We wandered the farmers market and bought fresh summer veggies, fingerling potatoes, parsnips and other tasty things for our children. (and us!)

We spent a lot of time in the sun, a lot of time upstairs, and a lot of time laughing. We did our grocery shopping. Lame. But also felt like a vacation because we were alone! So funny. And we went out to a nice grown-up dinner and a very nice restaurant, the food was perfect and I don't think I stopped smiling. We walked downtown again for frozen yogurt after, came home and read/napped on the couch until we finally went to bed.

Nicole also bought a TON of fin new perennials for the front bed. One of them being a purple balloon flower that I am SO excited about. While she was involved in her plant selection process (which takes a while - Libras!) I wandered off and found orchids:

And I have to say that watching facebook/instagram through my phone and seeing shots The Dona was posting of deliriously happy kids playing in sandboxes, splash pads and running through the downstairs of their house, I think the kids really, really LOVED their stay at Camp Haven. Though, their Mamas at The Ark missed them terribly - it was/is glorious to be updating LJ on my porch in my PJs listening to my other neighbors enjoying similar porch mornings. Updating LJ on a Sunday - can you imagine?
