dreamsrundeep: (summer feet)
So.  Here are y goals for this week.

This week:
I will breathe when I feel like shouting.
I will be patient when I feel like exploding and then I will take a walk or count to ten.
I am going to try to get more sleep.
I am going to try to get in three runs, not just two.
I will spend at least three breaks meditating.

I didn't get the full recharge I need to survive, but I am going to try to make the most of the energy I have left.

It is amazing how our kids are such homebodies.  They plead for "stay home days" and want to just stay in their jammies and snuggle on the couch... until their energy overflows and they get cranky and STILL want to stay home. Yesterday, in an effort to burn off some incredible toddler energy, I took the kids on our first 'discovery' walk.  We walk a LOT, but this one had just the intention of running, wandering, observing things, and asking why the world is the way that it is.  They'd been in their jammies all morning and it was lunch time, but they *needed* something physical to do.  And it was glorious.  The short break in the rain but thick fog and clouds gave the world a little touch of magic.  We picked up seed pods that looked like balloons, checked out rocks by the defunct railroad tracks, crouched low to watch a crow stalking in a field, watched leaves eddy in the river and schools o fish under the bridge.  And we ran.  Lots of running.  Brooks is FAST.

My hair is long enough now that I had to buy a real hairbrush.  We've had the same kind of round (1") brush forever and I found that it was snarling my now shoulder-length hair.  I miss the spiky look sometimes, but it is nice to be able to pull my hair back.  I think Nicole is getting used to it, too.  Weird.

I have too much PTO after an audit was run and I am going to have to take the week off after Thanksgiving.  I have a huge assignment due December 3rd, so that will be nice to have a day to get that in shape after we fly home from Texas on Monday, December 2nd,  Then starting on the 4th, I am going to paint my office, find a desk, get a chair and make my space. Three days ought to be enough, right?  Especially if I can get my friend E to help me.  She loves to paint.
