(no subject)
This has been a long first day back after a blissful PTO day to myself yesterday. It rained buckets during the morning and I was able to stay in my pajamas and read read read for school, catch-up, get a plan and enjoy the cool air, the sound and smell of rain, and I think I probably spoke two dozen words between 8:30AM and 5:30PM. It was wonderful. A great day to be an introvert!
Unfortunately, I caught Nicole’s head cold. So while I had a great day off, it was spent in the preliminary phases of sickness and then today I came back to work in full-fledged sinusitis mode. Ouch ouch. Cold medicine does make things more entertaining, but I’d rather be in bed.
I love having twins. I mean, it’s crazy hard – but I love it. They are at this age now where they are playing pretend with each other and with us. Their favorite game lately is Dragon. “Run away, mama! Run away!” Or “You be the dragon, mama!” followed by screaming and running. They also like “Spider” – “You be the spider mama! I be the caterpillar!” And we also all have a role in Mickey Mouse’s Clubhouse. I’m Pluto. Brooks is Minnie (his favorite!), Brenner is Mickey and Nicole…. Is Goofy. Hilarious.
But then there are the whiny moments and the squabbling over toys that make me pour a glass of wine and pray for early bedtime. Alas.
