Aug. 22nd, 2012 07:16 amI feel like I’ve been floating in a sea of gratitude. Despite what could have been a tough week, I’m really okay. Like, surprisingly okay. Enough pressure and tension have been let go to actually allow me to breathe a little. Nicole and I are taking an impromptu long weekend this weekend, too. So only one more weekday after today for me! And Nicole cleaned the kitchen last night after I went to bed, I have a new recipe to try for dinner and a lot of hope.
The boys and I stopped by Nicole’s work yesterday on the way home. We took a leisurely walk to the Coffee-Shop-Where-It-All-Began, pushing the giant orange stroller with two happy little men. Some days it still feels so surreal.
Light has taken on a distinctly golden fall-like quality as the planet tilts away from the sun. These are some of my favorite days – the last ones of summer that lean toward the cool of autumn but still have the residual warmth of July. I still can’t wait to sit on the deck over the ocean in a month, but I’m content dodging mosquitoes on the front porch for now. Nicole’s flowers have been gorgeous all summer. Our porch is like a hidden jungle of joy (and bugs – but mostly joy).
