dreamsrundeep: (summer feet)
We stayed home and weathered the "Polar Vortex" on Tuesday.  It was a happy and unexpected day home with the family.  The kids were (mostly) good.  I find the older they get, the more I appreciate and the less stressed I am by spending time with them.  The more they can do and communicate, the easier and more fun this whole parenting thing gets. (But I often think that now that I understand what to expect, newborn/infancy would be easier the second time around.)  Nicole and I have been tossing around the idea o a third child again, but without too much seriousness.  There have been so many articles lately about why NOT to have a third child ... it's tough.  On one hand, I don't feel like I'm done with having kids yet.  On the other hand... three kids! OMG.  The cost alone.  But we WILL have Nicole's mom in town for this one ... The one For Sure is that we are NOT talking about it until I finish grad school.

While WE weathered the polar vortex without incident, our babysitter was not as lucky.  She had a pipe burst and had to close yesterday.  Already a day and a half PTO gone and we are just one week into the new year! But again, nice unexpected day with the kids!

Oh, grad school. I spent three hours last night annotating readings from the last three days.  And an additional hour or two reading.

And now... time for work.
